A Study on the Current Status and Interest of Hair Illustration Education

Abstract

|
This study is about the current status and interest in hair illustration education. The results are as follow. First, for a study on the status of hair illustration education, the schools having hair illustration and similar subjects were 41 junior colleges, 24 four year universities, 6 graduate schools and 2 cyber universities.
Second, when looking into general characteristics of the study subjects, most were women. By age, there were more subjects in the age of 50s with many married. There were many subjects having 10 years or more experience in the beauty field. For education, there were many subjects with graduate school or higher education. In the 21st century, it can be seen that academic attainment is getting higher in all areas. Third, the result in the level of interest in hair illustrations has shown overall mean of (M = 4.11), the level of interest on the hair illustration education has shown (M = 3.99), the level of interest in work activities was (M = 3.90), the level of professionalism in the field of hair design was (M = 3.44) and the level of wanting to receive education was (M = 3.92) which was shown high. In addition, the overall average points for level of knowledge on hair illustration was 2.72 which were a little less than normal.
